How to play
Words run in a straight line — across, down or diagonally, and some run backwards. Drag your finger from the first letter to the last.
If dragging is awkward, tap the first letter and then the last one instead. Both work, and the second is easier on a small screen or an unsteady hand.
Your progress is kept in this browser, on this device. Close the tab and come back — the words you have found will still be crossed off. Nothing is sent anywhere and there is nothing to sign into.
Where the words come from
Each theme is built from a dictionary rather than typed by hand, then screened so nothing unpleasant or unguessable reaches the grid — no names, no acronyms, nothing grim.
